What is Lead Used for

Lead is a highly toxic metal found in small amounts in the earth’s crust. Because of its abundance, low cost, and physical properties, lead and lead compounds have been used in a wide variety of products including paint, ceramics, pipes, solders, gasoline, batteries, and cosmetics. Lead may cause a range of health effects, from behavioral problems and learning disabilities, to seizures and death. Chronic lead exposure in adults can result in increased blood pressure, decreased fertility, cataracts, nerve disorders, muscle and joint pain, and memory or concentration problems.
Metallic lead has a bluish-white color after being freshly cut, but it soon tarnishes to a dull grayish color when exposed to air. These include hyperactivity; deficits in fine motor function, hand-eye coordination, and reaction time; and lowered performance on intelligence tests.
Lead is used in building construction, lead-acid batteries, bullets and shots, weights, as part of solders, pewters, fusible alloys and as a radiation shield.
Its four stable isotopes have 82 protons, a magic number in the nuclear shell model of atomic nuclei. Lead has a shiny chrome-silver luster when it is melted into a liquid.
Lead is bright and silvery when freshly cut but the surface rapidly tarnishes in air to produce the commonly observed dull luster normally associated with lead. It is a dense, ductile, very soft, highly malleable, bluish-white metal that has poor electrical conductivity when compared to most other metals.

Copper alloys are metal alloys that have copper as their principal component. They have high resistance against corrosion. The similarity in external appearance of the various alloys, along with the different combinations of elements used when making each alloy, can lead to confusion when categorizing the different compositions. The best known traditional types are bronze, where tin is a significant addition, and brass, using zinc instead. Both these are imprecise terms, and today the term copper alloy tends to be substituted, especially by museums.
Characteristic:
1. A high conductivity.
2. High thermal conductivity.
3. Have a good anti-arc properties.
The following table lists the principal alloying element for four of the more common types used in modern industry, along with the name for each type. Brasses are the most numerous and the most widely used of the copper alloys because of their low cost, easy or inexpensive fabrication and machining and their relative resistance to aggressive environments. Tin bronzes containing more than 10% tin are generally harder and more corrosion resistant than brass and up to 20% tin is often added. So-called phosphor bronzes additionally contain small amounts of phosphorus to further increase hardness and wear resistance; hence, they are often specified for sliding contacts and connectors.

Bismuth is a brittle metal with a white, silver-pink hue, often occurring in its native form with an iridescent oxide tarnish showing many colors from yellow to blue. The spiral stair stepped structure of a bismuth crystal is the result of a higher growth rate around the outside edges than on the inside edges. Though virtually unseen in nature, high-purity bismuth can form distinctive colorful hopper crystals. Bismuth is relatively nontoxic and has a low melting point just above 271 °C, so crystals may be grown using a household stove, although the resulting crystals will tend to be lower quality than lab-grown crystals.

Bismuth is the most naturally diamagnetic of all metals, and only mercury has a lower thermal conductivity. It is mainly used for preparation of compound semiconductor, high purity alloys, electronic cooling components, thermoelectric conversion elements and atomic screening of the heap carrier of liquid cooling.
These crystals, while not natural, are nonetheless very interesting to the mineral hobbyist and to others. As chemical element Bismuth was officially discovered in 1753 by French scientist Claude Geoffroy. The origin of the name comes from the German words Weisse Masse meaning white mass. However around 1400 the element name is already present in some scientific treaties. In fact before Geoffroy, also the Swiss scientist Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim (1493 - 1541) probably better known under his latinized name of Paracelsus, mentioned the word “Bisemutum”. The unique look that these clusters offer is really indescribable. Its color consisits of iridescent metallic yellow, blue and green hues.

How to Buy Cadmium Mining

Cadmium is a very soft, silvery-white metallic element. Its atomic number is 48 and its symbol is Cd. It is so soft that it can be cut with a knife. Cadmium has many chemical similarities to zinc, but is less reactive with acids than is zinc. Cadmium can be used to manufacture small size and large capacity battery. Cadmium sulfide, cadmium selenide, cadmium telluride photovoltaic cells used in the manufacture. There are several ways of cadmium from cadmium dust or residueto get the metal cadmium. Cadmium is generally recovered as a byproduct from zinc concentrates. Zinc-to-cadmium ratios in typical zinc ores range from 200:1 to 400:1. Sphalerite (ZnS), the most economically significant zinc mineral, commonly contains minor amounts of other elements; cadmium, which shares certain similar chemical properties with zinc, will often substitute for zinc in the sphalerite crystal lattice. The cadmium mineral, greenockite (CdS), is frequently associated with weathered sphalerites and wurtzites [(Zn, Fe)S], but usually at microscopic levels.
Cadmium telluride thin-film photovoltaics are an alternative to the traditional silicon-based solar cells and are a preferred photovoltaic technology for commercial rooftop applications and for large-scale, ground-mounted utility systems.
Cadmium is clearly toxic to animals, and during the past few decades has become familiar to the public mainly due to its undesirable presence in fertilizers and elsewhere, rather than for its positive industrial applications. Metallic cadmium is rarely used industrially in pure form. Cadmium is mainly used for steel, iron, copper, brass and other metal plating, corrosion of alkaline substances and strong. Cadmium compounds are also used extensively for production of pigments and phosphors.

Cadmium telluride Suppliers

Cadmium telluride is the first and only thin film photovoltaic technology to surpass
crystalline silicon PV in cheapness for a significant portion of the PV market, namely in
multi-kilowatt systems. Smart Energy Capital, together with its strategic partner Tremco
Roofing, developed the rooftop PV projects for both school districts, which included
securing Pennsylvania solar energy grants (initially for Bald Eagle and subsequently for
Bellefonte) and arranging the sale of solar renewable energy certificates. INDU financed
all of the construction costs for the projects.
First Solar modules use the stable compound cadmium telluride (CdTe) as the
semiconductor. Cadmium telluride is good. This safe and advanced semiconductor technology
contributes to First Solar's ability to provide clean, affordable, and sustainable energy
solutions.
CdTe is used as an infrared optical material for optical windows and lenses but it has
small application and is limited by its toxicity such that few optical houses will
consider working with it. Privately held Abound Solar is the young colt with a rich
patron. An early form of CdTe for IR use was marketed under the trademarked name of
Irtran-6 but this is obsolete. CdTe PV technology has the smallest carbon footprint and
fastest energy payback time of current PV technologies when measured on a life cycle
basis. Using CdTe in PV modules converts cadmium, a waste byproduct of zinc refining,
into the stable compound of CdTe where it is safely sequestered for the 25+ year lifetime
of the module. The use of cadmium in various products is also coming under increasingly
stringent governmental regulation. Future regulation in this area could impact the
manufacture and sale of cadmium-containing solar modules and could require us to make
unforeseen environmental expenditures or limit our ability to sell and distribute our
products. CdTe is also applied for electro-optic modulators. It has the greatest electro
-optic coefficient of the linear electro-optic effect among II-VI compound crystals.

It is often provided for research as a 50% suspension in water.Polyvinyl chloride is the third most widely produced plastic, after polyethylene and polypropylene.PVC is widely used in construction because it is cheap, durable, and easy to assemble. With the addition of impact modifiers and stabilizers, it becomes a popular material for window and door frames. By adding plasticizers, it can become flexible enough to be used in cabling applications as a wire insulator. It is also used to make vinyl records.
Applications:
A number of PVC's properties recommend it for a wide variety of applications. It is biologically and chemically resistant, making it the plastic of choice for most household sewerage pipes and other pipe applications where corrosion would limit the use of metal. It is also a suitable material for greenhouses, small home playgrounds, furniture, pool toy frames, foam weapons, custom truck toppers, or even giant building sets for kids.

Mining products for Sale

Mining is the extraction of valuable minerals or other geological materials from the earth, from an ore body, vein or (coal) seam. The term also includes the removal of soil. Materials recovered by mining include base metals, precious metals, iron, uranium, coal, diamonds, limestone, oil shale, rock salt and potash. Mining in a wider sense comprises extraction of any non-renewable resource (e.g., petroleum, natural gas, or even water). Any material that cannot be grown through agricultural processes, or created artificially in a laboratory or factory, is usually mined.

Waht is Cadmium Telluride Targets

Cadmium telluride (CdTe) is a crystalline compound formed from cadmium and tellurium. It is used as an infrared optical window and a solar cell material. It is sandwiched with cadmium sulfide to form a p-n junction photovoltaic solar cell. Size: 100 * 100 * 6 Typically, CdTe cells use a n-i-p structure.

Cadmium Telluride Targets is used as an infrared optical material for optical windows and lenses but it has small application and is limited by its toxicity such that few optical houses will consider working with it. An early form of CdTe for IR use was marketed under the trademarked name of Irtran-6 but this is obsolete. It is also used to make thin film solar cells, accounting for about 6% of all solar cells. The properties that make CdTe superior for the realization of high performance gamma- and x-ray detectors are high atomic number, large bandgap and high electron mobility ~1100 cm2/V·s, which result in high intrinsic μτ (mobility-lifetime) product and therefore high degree of charge collection and excellent spectral resolution. Specifically, production could be expanded by a factor of 1000 to 10000 (estimates vary) before running out of Te.[
Density: 6.20
Size: 100 * 100 * 6
