Identification of Nordihydroguaiaretic acid test



Solubility Nordihydroguaiaretic acid soluble in ethanol and ethyl ether, soluble in 116 ℃ propylene glycol. According to the OT - 42 method determination.
Determination of melting point 184 ℃, according to the conventional method.
Take ferric chloride ethanol solution (TS - 102) 12 ml and 2, 2 pyridine test solution (TS - 41) 2 ml, add 50% ethanol solution containing 0.5% sample 5 ml, should be dark fuchsia.
Take a sample liquid 5 ml 75% ethanol, 1% with concentrated ammonia solution (TS - 13) 1 ml, should be yellow.
Take sample liquid 10 ml 50% ethanol, 0.5% and 1% barium hydroxide [Ba (OH) 2? H2O3 boiling liquid 1.5 ml. Should be dark blue, and can keep about 1 h.
Take 10% sodium hydroxide 10 ml, add 0.5% sample
